'The Social Unrest' is an important study on labour and socialism in America at the turn of the century. The author wrote this after investigating the conditions of workers across the country for the U.S. Department of Labor. He investigated strikes and lockouts, and lectured on various topics relating to progressive social reform, such as trade unions.
By John Graham Brooks, this was a popular work which gained a broad readership across the U.S. This is the seventh edition, published in July 1905; the first was published in January 1903.
