An early edition, with the circular illustration to the front cover, ribbon endpapers, and dedication for Joan without the comma, as called for by Quinby for edition 9B. 

Illustrated with a colour frontispiece, monochrome vignettes and nine colour plates. Collated, complete. 

A charming children's tale by the beloved Beatrix Potter, featuring a story of a cat who throws a tea party for a dog called Dutchess.

Condition

In the publisher's original pictorial paper covered boards. Externally excellent with slight fading to the spine and extremities. Light offsetting to the free endpapers. Internally firmly bound with clean and bright pages with an owner's ink inscription to the half title, and only the odd very minimal handling mark.
