Matthew Arnold was an English poet and cultural critic, whose father was eminent Rugby School headmaster, Thomas Arnold. 

Poems found in this volume include 'Resignation', 'Balder Dead', 'The Buried Life', 'Switzerland' and many more. 

With an engraved portrait frontispiece. 

Condition

In full calf prize binding. Externally, with rubbing to the extremities and darkening to the spine. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and generally clean, with scattered spots to the endpapers.
