The first edition of this beautifully illustrated early twentieth century study of Norway, the collaborative work of Anglo-Dutch painter Nico Jungman, and his wife, Beatrix Jungman.
They collaborated on three such works, publishing studies of Holland and Normandy also.
With discussions of reindeer, legends and literature, arts and crafts and the fjords, amongst a variety of other topics.
Illustrated with seventy five coloured plates from Nico Jungman, each retaining the original captioned tissue guard. Collated, complete.
With four pages of advertisements to the rear.
With a charming inscription to the front free endpaper, dated 1921, 'in remembrance of the Norwegian cruise'.
Condition
In the publisher's original decorative cloth binding. Externally, fine. Inscription to front free endpaper. Internally, firmly bound. Pages bright, with the odd instance of spotting throughout.
