Illustrated by Margaret Helen Waterfield an English artist and member of the Society of Women Artists best known for her watercolor paintings of flowers and other plants. This copy features a colour frontispiece and fifty colour plates. Collated, complete.
The book is divided by season, with each of the four main seasons being written by a different gardening or literary figure: Spring by Mrs. C. W. Earle, Summer by E. V. B. [Eleanor Vere Boyle], Autumn by Rose Kingsley, and Winter by Hon. Vicary Gibbs.
Condition
In the original full cloth binding. Externally, very smart. Slight cocking to front board. Slight rubbing and bumping to extremities. One or two minor handling marks to boards. Previous owner's bookplate to front paste down. Offsetting to endpapers. Internally, firmly bound. Pages generally bright and clean with scattered spotting to first and last few leaves.
