These 'Baedeker' handbooks, from the company of German publisher Karl Baedeker, set the standard for authoritative guidebooks for tourists. They contain, among other things, maps and information regarding routes, travel facilities, noteworthy sights, attractions and museums, written by specialists.
Condition
In the original limp cloth binding. Externally, very smart, with minor rubbing to the extremities and a few marks to the boards. Internally, folding map between pages 216-217 and map between pages 260-261 detached but present. Pages are generally bright and clean, with a contemporary ink inscription to the title page. With a couple 1" closed tears to the folding map frontispiece.
