Three works from the 'Indian Records Series', published for the Indian Government by John Murray. A scarce set.

This series explores many different aspects of life in India and the vast history of the country. The different works consist of selections, notes, and compilations from the records of the India Government of the India Office.  

Containing;

'Bengal in 1756-57' by S. C. Hill. The first edition, complete in three volumes, a very scarce work. Volume I is illustrated with three folding maps and plans, and eight plates. Volume II is illustrated with one folding map, and six plates. Volume III is illustrated with seven plates. Collated, complete.

'Old Fort William In Bengal' by C. R. Wilson. The first edition, complete in two volumes, a very scarce work. Volume II is illustrated with seven folding maps and plates, and twenty-six plates. Collated, complete.

'The Diaries of Streynsham Master' edited by Sir Richard Carnac Temple. The first edition, complete in two volumes, a very scarce work. Volume I covers 1675-1677, Volume II 1675-1680. Volume I is illustrated with a frontispiece, and one folding map. Volume II is illustrated with a frontispiece, and one folding map. Six pages of adverts to the rear of Volume I. Collated, complete.

Condition

In the original publisher's cloth binding. Externally, with dampstains to the boards. Spines are age-toned. Light bumping to the head and tail of the spines and to the extremities, loss to the spines of 'Bengal' Volumes I and II. Light rubbing to the cloth. Front hinge is starting to 'Bengal' Volume I. Rear hinge is starting to 'Old Fort William' Volume II. Loss to the front endpaper of 'Bengal' Volume III and 'Old Fort William' Volume I. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean, with the occasional scattered spot.
