The second edition of this work in the blue pictorial cloth variant binding.

Ink inscription to the verso of the frontispiece from St. Mary's Higher Grade Boys' School, awarding this book as a prize, dated 1909.

Illustrated with a colour frontispiece and a further five colour plates by the Golden Age book illustrator Arthur Rackham (1867-1939). Collated, complete.

This adventure novel was written by Henry Harbour and illustrated with early examples of Arthur Rackham's colour illustrations.

Undated, dated through copies held at the British Library.

Condition

In the blue pictorial cloth variant binding. Externally, generally smart, with shelf wear to the boards and extremities. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are generally bright and clean, with some spotting to the first few pages, and to the fore edge, affecting the occasional page. Small hole to the contents page, with a small tape repair to the verso, not affecting the text.
