An uncommon work, from the library of the 'Lodge of Harmony', Fareham. The 'Lodge of Harmony' was first warranted in 1796 and is lodge no 309. The lodge of Harmony merged with moderns to become the United Grand Lodge of England. This work is a selection of memorials regarding the Globe Lodge, no 23. The Globe Lodge was first established in 1723 and met at the Half Moon, Cheapside, London. It gained its name in 1768 and is one of nineteen lodges which have the privilege of nominating a member for appointment by the Grand Master as a Grand Steward. It is a Red Apron Lodge, which is explained further to this work. Sadler looks at the origin and history of the red apron in a Freemasonry context. Written by Henry Sadler, who was Grand Tyler and Sub-Librarian of the Grand Lodge of England. Illustrated throughout. A very bright copy of this work.

In the publisher's original red cloth binding. Externally, excellent with minor shelfwear to the extremities. Shelf label to the spine, from the 'Lodge of Harmony' Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright with occasional light spots.
