Description

First edition of the second volume of Gould's "Political Caricatures" the first of which was published for the year 1903. Illustrated with over one hundred full-page images. A collection of politically motivated humorous cartoons and caricatures covering the principal political events and the salient features of the political situations arising day by day in the year from December 1903 to 1904. Some of which had previously appeared in the Westminster Gazette. Illustrated by Sir Francis Carruthers Gould, a British caricaturist and political cartoonist.
Condition
In the original full cloth binding. Externally, smart with light rubbing and bumping to the extremities. Fading to the spine and board edges with the odd small mark. Small splits resulting in minor loss to the cloth at the head and tail of the spine as well as the board edges. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright with the odd small spot or handling mark. Age toning to the extremities and endpapers. A contemporary ink inscription to the front endpaper.
