Oliver Goldsmith's celebrated novel 'The Vicar of Wakefield,' originally published in 1766 concerning family endurance and the drama surrounding the Primrose family, who live an idyllic country life until they loose finances and their daughter is abducted. Collated, complete with twenty-five coloured plates.
Condition
In the original publisher's uniform decorative cloth bindings. Externally very smart with minor shelf wear only, 'The Vicar of Wakefield' slightly darkened, light bumping to head and tail of spine. Previous ownership pencil inscription to 'Our Village' front free endpaper, dated 1936. Internally, firmly bound. Light spotting to occasional leaf, particularly first and last few of 'The Vicar of Wakefield,' pages otherwise generally bright and clean.
