'Titus Adronicus' was published by David Bryce and Son, who are known as being one of the most prolific and successful producers of miniatures in the world. As well as their famous edition of William Shakespeare's complete works, they have published the smallest English dictionary in the world, the complete Holy Bible, and a miniature Quran.
'Macbeth' was published by Andersons, Edinburgh, Limited, known for printing books, calendars, and cards, but were also known to be “specialists in fancy goods and tartans”.
Condition
Uniformly bound in full limp crushed morocco, with spine labels. Externally, with darkening to parts of the leather and slight rubbing to the spine labels. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are marginally age toned to 'Titus', otherwise clean. 'Macbeth' is bright and clean, with minor loss to the front free endpaper.
