Written by English cleric and academic, Alfred Williams Momerie, a congregational minister who was also appointed professor of logic and mental philosophy at King's College, London. Momerie was known for his philosophical writings surrounding religion, such as this one.
This collection of writings was published posthumously, after Momerie's death in 1900. His wife, Vehia Momerie compiled the last four years of her husbands work together in this form.
This informative work is comprised of Momerie's ideas surrounding life, death and immortality, with an exploration on the religious and scientific connotations, as well as the importance of a life with meaning.

Condition
Bound in a contemporary quarter cloth with paper wraps. Externally, excellent, with light creasing to the extremities and the odd handling mark. Internally, firmly bound. Light edge wear and a little age toning to pages, with the occasional handling mark. Ink inscription to title page.
