An illustrated edition, limited to five hundred unnumbered copies, of R. S. Surtees' The Analysis of the Hunting Field.

In the publisher's original green cloth with extensive pictorial gilt decoration to the front board. 

With thirteen coloured plates, with the original tissue guards captioned in red, and forty-three further in-text illustrations throughout by H. Alken. Collated, complete.

Contains a prior owner's bookplate to the front paste down.

Condition

In the publisher's original cloth binding with pictorial gilt design. Externally, very smart with shelf wear and bumping to extremities. Marks to front and rear boards. Small chip to rear board. Tear to front paste down at front hinge, binding not affected. Internally, firmly bound. Frontispiece tissue guard loose. Spotting and age toning to pages, heavier to the first and last few. Contains prior owner's bookplate to front paste down.
