These works contain the critical and historical essays written by British Whig politician, poet and historian, Thomas Babington Macaulay.
They were originally published for The Edinburgh Review, one of the most influential British magazines of the 19th century. It coincided with Macaulay's Whig politics and promoted Romanticism.
Condition
Uniformly bound in the original red cloth binding. Externally, very smart, with slight rubbing and bumping to the extremities. Fading to the spines and the odd small white mark to the boards. Internally, firmly bound, with some leaves uncut. Pages are generally bright and clean, with the odd spot and age toning to the endpapers.
