A very scarce limited edition of two hundred copies, of which this is numbered thirty-three.
A charming volume collecting together the best and most beautiful songs of William Shakespeare, put to music by various composers, such as Thomas Morley, Joseph Haydn, Franz Schubert, and Thomas A. Arne.
Songs included are 'It Was a Lover and His Lass', 'She Never Told Her Love', 'When Daisies Died, and Violets Blue', 'Under the Greenwood Tree', and more.
This lovely edition is decorated throughout by Edward Edwards.
Illustrated with a frontispiece, ten plates, and decorative borders throughout.
Collated, complete.
Condition
In the original publisher's quarter vellum binding with paper to the boards. Externally, generally smart. Boards are a little age-toned with a few spots. Minor bumping to the extremities. A couple of small chips to the joints. Spine is a little age-toned with a few light marks, as is usual with a vellum binding. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean.
