Description
Colour Plates, First Edition, Illustrated, Very Scarce
A very scarce first edition. Held institutionally in only 5 UK libraries. In a full cloth binding with gilt lettering. With twenty-four colour illustrations by Gertrude M. Bradley. Collated complete. Book seven of the 'Larger Dumpy Books for Children' series, a series of small format books selected by E. V. Lucas. A delightful Punch and Judy Victorian children's book by Hamish Hendry. The half title page is present.
Condition
In a full cloth binding. Externally, sound with some shelf wear to the edges. The front joint is cracked and tender, with some loss to the spine. Bumping to the spine. Marks to the boards. Offsetting to the free endpapers. Front hinge is strained but still attached. Internally, binding weak. Handling marks throughout, heavier to the front and rear. Some age-toning to the edges and scattered spots towards the front of the volume.
