An illustrated edition of this work in half calf binding. 

With a monochrome frontispiece and nine plates. Collated complete.

An immersive work by American writer and naturalist William J. Long, depicting his experiences of the wilderness and the various intriguing birds he made observations of. 

Long wrote of his wilderness experiences in other works such as 'Ways of Wood Folk' and 'Northern Trails', which were often issued in schools under the title of 'The Wood Folk Series'.

Condition

In half calf binding. Externally, smart with minor rubbing to the extremities. Handling marks to the boards. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are generally bright and clean with light spotting to the endpapers.
