This set features the complete collection of Sir Walter Scott's famous 'Waverley Novels'. The 'Waverley' novels were some of the most popular and widely read novels of the time when they were published, increasing Scott's reputation to become one of the most recognisable literary names of the Georgian era. 'Waverley', the first novel in the series, was Scott's first adventure into historical literature, and has been widely acknowledged as one of the first pieces of historical fiction.

Condition
Bound in half calf with cloth to the boards. Externally very smart with fading to the spines, slight rubbing to the extremities, damp stains to the boards to volumes '18, 12, 19, 1, 5, 13, 22, 8 and 7'. Minimal offsetting to the extremities of the endpapers. Internally firmly bound with lightly age toned and occasional spotting. The occasional page unopened.
