Illustrated with full colour frontispieces, numerous monochrome vignettes and forty coloured plates to each volume. Collated complete.

Bound in half morocco with pebbled cloth to the boards. 

This four volume ornithological work was written by W. Swaysland and provides an in depth study of a variety of species of birds with a coloured plates by A. Thornburn and other artists. The work also covers nests and eggs.

Condition

Bound in half morocco with pebbled cloth to the boards. Externally sound with marks to the boards, fading to the spine, rubbing to the extremities, bumping to the extremities of the boards and cockling to the front board. Hinges starting. Internally firmly bound with lightly age toned pages with light spotting throughout. Ink inscription to the front blank.
