    Including a Methuen publisher's catalogue for November 1900 to the rear of volume two.

    Sir Sidney Colvin, 1845-1927, was an English art and literary scholar and museum administrator. 'Colvin's most celebrated friendship, shared by his future wife, was with Robert Louis Stevenson... Colvin recognized Stevenson's genius and helped and encouraged him by introducing him to editors and publishers and tirelessly promoting his interests' -ODNB.

    With a contemporary ink inscription from 1924 to front free endpaper of volume two.

    Condition

    In the publisher's original cloth binding. Externally, smart with bumping and slight loss to the spine heads and tails of both vols. The odd mark to boards. Marginal fading to board of vol two. Mark to spine of vol two. Shelf wear to joints and extremities. Internally, firmly bound. Pages age toned and the odd spot, heavier to the first and last few pages. With a contemporary ink inscription from 1924 to front free endpaper of volume two. Fore edge roughly cut.
