The first edition of this work in the publisher's original cloth binding, with pictorial gilt to the front board. Top edge gilt.

An early twentieth-century encyclopaedia of sport, including angling, archery, bowls, boxing, canoeing, cricket, cycling, driving, fencing, football, golf, hockey, hunting, lawn tennis, riding, rowing, shooting, swimming, wrestling, and much more. Illustrated with numerous in-text illustrations throughout.

With contributions by Montague Shearman, J. E. Harting, Walter Herries Pollock, and the Rev. John Kerr, among many others. A large part of this work was reprinted from the Encyclopaedia of Sport. Edited by Alfred E. T. Watson.

Condition

In the publisher's original cloth binding. Externally, generally smart, though faded to the spine. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean except for the odd spot to the first and last few pages.
