An anthology of the poetical works of John Milton, an English poet, polemicist, and civil servant best known for his 1667 epic poem Paradise Lost. Milton is described as the "greatest English author" by his biographer William Hayley, and he remains generally regarded as one of the preeminent writers in the English language. Edited after the original texts by Henry Charles Beeching, a British clergyman, writer and poet, who was Dean of Norwich.

Condition

In the original half vellum binding. Externally, smart with light wear to the extremities and the odd small mark to the boards. Minor discolouration as is typical with ageing. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright with the odd small spot. Light spotting to the first and last few pages and minor age toning to the endpapers.
