    This volume is the third edition of this work.

    This work is a practical and accessible guide intended for home gardeners and hobbyists interested in greenhouse cultivation at the turn of the 20th century, with step-by-step guidance on managing a greenhouse, from heating and ventilation to soil preparation and pest control. 

    This edition features numerous illustrations, many of which are full page, with 16 monochrome plates including a photographic monochrome frontispiece. Collated, complete.

    Condition

    In the publisher's original binding. Externally, very smart. One or two very slight handling marks to boards. Slight rubbing and bumping to extremities, particularly the head of the spine. Bookplate from "Martin & Pamela Finch: Exlibris Gastronomique" to front free endpaper. Front hinge cracked, partially exposing binding materials. One or two spots with slight offsetting to endpapers. Internally, somewhat loosely bound. Pages frequently partially disbound, but just about holding. Pages bright an clean with the odd spot and one or two handling marks, heavier to fore edge. The odd chip and crease to perimeters of illustrated monochrome plate facing page 2.
