A detailed and comprehensive history of the last one hundred years of fox-hunting in England, with chapters on masters of hounds, selected biographies, famous horsemen, the hunting-field, stable management, ladies in the hunting-field, warfare, gamekeepers, and more. Written by George F. Underhill, an English sportswriter.

Condition

In the original red cloth binding. Externally, smart with rubbing and light bumping to the extremities. Fading to the spine and board edges with the odd small mark to the boards. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright with the odd small spot. Minor spotting to the first and last few pages with light age toning to the endpapers. Contemporary ink inscription to the front endpaper.
