What Our Customers Say...

Description

Illustrated, Leather Binding

Three volumes. The Girl's Own Paper was a British story paper for young women and girls which was published weekly from 1880 until 1956 by the Religious Tract Society, which subsequently became the Lutterworth Press. The paper provided a mixture of educational articles, stories, poetry, music, answers to correspondence, and plates or illustrations. Most of the content was created by female writers, artists, and musicians, and as the years progressed the paper included information on serious careers for women and advice on style and dress. For some years The Girl's Own Annual was published as a collection of issues throughout the year. This set includes: Volume XXII including issues number 1084, 6th October 1900, to number 1135, 28th September 1901. Illustrated with frontispiece, eleven plates, four of which are in full colour, and one folding plate. Volume XXIII including issue number 1136, 5th October 1901, to number1187, 27th September 1902. Illustrated with a coloured frontispiece and eleven plates, six of which are in full colour. Volume XXIV including issues number 1188, 4th October 1902, to number 1239, 26th September 1903. Illustrated with a coloured frontispiece, three folding plates, and ten plates, four of which are in full colour.
