    Folding Maps, Illustrated, Leather Binding, Uncommon

    A very smart matching set, bound in half green morocco and patterned pictorial boards.

    An uncommon example of a complete 5 volume set of George Borrow's most popular prose works, including the autobiographical novel 'Lavengro'.

    Each title features a monochrome frontispiece, and further monochrome plate illustrations, totaling 38 across the 5 titles.
    Volume 3 - 'The Bible in Spain', perhaps Borrow's most popular work - also features an intricate folding coloured map towards the rear of the work.
    Volume 4 - 'The Zincali' - features an additional unlisted photographic plate of Seville tipped in to the original work between pp.194-195.
    Collated, complete.

    Condition

    A matching set bound in green half morocco. Externally, very smart. Fading to spines. The odd marks to boards. Occasional age toning to endpapers. Small punctures and closed tear to leather to vol5 front joint. Occasional small areas of loss to leather. Internally, firmly bound. Pages generally bright and clean, with occasional handling marks, and spotting and age toning to plates.
