What Our Customers Say...

Description

Folding Maps, Illustrated, Leather Binding

Although Borrow's works were not first collected until the 1920s, this group of his five most popular titles were often gathered together.

Many of the English writer's novels and travel books were based on his personal experiences with the Romani people of Europe, who feature strongly in his work.

Present here are each of Borrow's principle works: 'The Bible in Spain', 'Lavengro', 'The Romany Rye', 'Wild Wales' and 'The Zincali'.

'Lavengro' is illustrated with eleven plates, 'The Romany Rye' with eight plates, 'Wild Wales' with thirteen plates, 'The Zincali' with eight plates, and 'The Bible in Spain' with three plates and a folding colour map. Collated, complete.

In half calf bindings, with gilt tooling to the back strips.

With the bookplate of Grace M. Pugh to the front pastedown of each volume, and with her inscription to the tail of each title page.

Condition
