This set includes the following works:

'Le Cousins Pons' (1900) - This is the last of the 94 novels and short stories that make up Balzac's 'Comedie humaine'. It concerns the impoverished and ageing musician Pons, whose relatives become aware of the true value of his art collection and struggle to obtain his inheritance. 

'Physiologie du Mariage ou Meditations de Philosophie Eclectique' (1901) - One of two of Balzac's treatises on marriage which is divided into several "parts" or meditations, exposing the state of marriage in France among the wealthy. 

Illustrated with six plates by Robaudi to 'Cousin Pons' and eleven plates by Cortazzo to 'Physiologie du Mariage'. Collated, complete.
