    The first edition. Complete in four volumes. 

    In the publisher's original decorative cloth binding.

    A comprehensive history of the Boer War, fought between the British Empire and the two Boer Republics, written and published directly after its occurrence. 

    'With the Flag to Pretoria' is in two volumes and 'After Pretoria: The Guerilla War' is the supplement also in two volumes. 

    Written by Herbert Wrigley Wilson, a British journalist and naval historian, who saw the importance of documenting historical events as they were happening. 

    Includes many illustrations throughout based from photographs and authentic sketches taken in South Africa. With a folding map to 'With the Flag' Vol I.

    Condition

    In the publisher's original decorative cloth binding. Externally, rubbing, bumping and marks to the extremities. Spines are discoloured, with backstrip coming away and tender hinges to Vol II of 'With the Flag'. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are generally bright and clean, with minor offsetting to the endpapers and the occasional spot.
