A brilliant travel magazine from the late Victorian early Edwardian era.

Providing a lovely insight into travel habits and preferences during this period, with notices on popular tourists destinations, and interesting articles on the world as it was at the beginning of the twentieth century.

Including articles on: the Paris Exhibition, Norway in September, a driving tour of the south of England, a short stay in Brussels, in the land of Burns, baffling the German police, the spas of Tuscany, sea sickness, conducted tours in Italy, tobogganing at Davos, Yellowstone Park, winter in Norway, amusements at Monte Carlo, education across the world, hints for mountaineering beginners, places to honeymoon, passages to Jamaica, views of Shakespeare's Country, drinking the waters at Telese, fishing in Australia, tours through Algeria, the Covent Garden Opera House, the Naples Aquarium, winter in Palermo, tours through Palestine, and much more.

With various adverts throughout, including for 'Black's Guide Books', and hotels across the globe, as well as useful information on railways.

Some articles tell stories of travellers, under the series title 'What Happened to Me', and others guide reader on 'What to Wear Abroad', others containing book reviews of published travel works.

Perhaps of most interest in the extensive coverage of the 1900 Paris Exposition, present in Volume I. This was an important and lavish world's fair held in the city, visited by more than fifty million people. The exhibitions included many technological innovations, including the Grande Roue de Paris ferris wheel, the Rue de l'Avenir moving pavement, the first ever regular passenger trolleybus line, talking films, the matryoshka dolls, and the telegraphone.
