Complete edition. With a portrait frontispiece. A collection of the works of Alfred Tennyson, an English poet who was Poet Laureate of the United Kingdom during much of Queen Victoria's reign. Tennyson's early poetry, with its medievalism and powerful visual imagery, was a major influence on the Pre-Raphaelite Brotherhood. With titles such as: Juvenilia, The Lady of Shallot, The Princess; A Medley, Idylls of the King, and Tiresias, amongst others.
Condition
Bound in full crushed morocco. Externally, sound with light rubbing and fading to the extremities. Further fading to the spine with the odd mark to the boards. Minor loss to the head of the spine. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright with the odd small spot. Minor age toning to the endpapers. A contemporary ink inscription to the front endpaper with a handwritten letter pasted to the front endpaper.
