An early edition, published the same year as the first edition, with this work first appearing in the 'Fishing Gazette', to which McClelland was the Athenian.
Bound in quarter cloth.
Previously owned by Charles Atwood Kofoid' with his bookplate to the front. Kofoid was an American zoologist who is best known for his important contributions to the field of marine biology with his classifications of many new species of marine protozoans.
Illustrated with a monochrome frontispiece and many monochrome vignettes.
This work provides a guide to tying flies for fishing trout and grayling, and was written by H. G. McClelland, with instructional diagrams throughout.
Condition
In the publisher's original quarter cloth. Externally, smart with a slight lean, fading to the spine and extremities of the boards, bumping to the extremities, and minor handling marks, Bookplates belonging to Jeffrey Norton, and Charles Atwood Kofoid to the front pastedown. Internally firmly bound with age toned and clean pages.
