    This charming set collects the works of Charlotte, Emily and Anne Bronte, with introductions and insights by Clement K. Shorter, Mrs Humphry Ward, and Mrs Gaskell.

    Widely recognised as some of Britain's most influential writers, the Bronte's collective works have been acclaimed as masterpieces of literature since their publications, with the sisters particularly becoming champions for female authors, who often published under male pseudonyms at the time.

    This set contains the following volumes, each illustrated with a frontispiece, facsimile title page and a number of monochrome plates.

    Condition

    Uniformly bound in the publisher's green cloth. Externally, very smart, with rubbing and bumping to the extremities, heaviest to the spine heads and tails. With the odd small mark to the boards. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are generally bright and clean, with scattered spots to the first and last few leaves.
