    Complete edition. With a portrait frontispiece. A collection of the poetical works of John Greenleaf Whittier, an American Quaker poet and advocate of the abolition of slavery in the United States. Frequently listed as one of the fireside poets, he was influenced by the Scottish poet Robert Burns. With notes, index of first lines, and a chronological list. Edited by William Garrett Horder, a British clergyman and scholar.

    Condition

    In the original half vellum binding. Externally, very smart with minor wear to the extremities and light discolouration as is typical with ageing. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright and clean throughout.
