The first edition of this work. 

In the publisher's original cloth binding. 

From English intellectual and bishop of the Anglican Church, Christopher Wordsworth, who is most noted for his edition of the Greek New Testament (1856-1860) and the Old Testament (1864–1870). 

With an account of some old Lincoln customs and ceremonies, with notes on the titles of the altars and chapels, as well as a full index. 

With several contemporary ink inscriptions to the front endpaper. With a tipped in clipping to the rear containing upcoming services at Lincoln Cathedral, 1913.




Condition

In the original cloth binding. Externally, smart. With fading to the spine and rubbing and bumping to the extremities. Marks to the extremities. Bookplate of Thomae Erskine Swanzy to the front pastedown. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are generally bright and clean, with scattered spots and contemporary ink inscriptions to the endpapers.
