First edition. Presented with compliments of The Textile Manufacturer, Manchester and London, dated April 5th 1929. Very scarce work. Illustrated with thirty-nine plates, twelve of which are folding. Collated complete. An earnest and carefully thought out study on the designs of a variety of harmonics and keyboards suited to many manufacturers, introducing an entirely new method by which any individual may become familiar with a ready system of transposing music into design. With chapters on notes of the musical scale, recording sounds, the manner of designing, square designs, ornamental and floral designs, and more. Written by C. H. Wilkinson. Previously held in the The Textile Institute library, a professional body for those engaged in clothing, footwear, and textiles founded in 1910 and incorporated in England by a Royal Charter granted in 1925.
Condition
In the original full cloth binding with gilt. Externally, smart with light rubbing and bumping to the extremities. Fading to the spine with the odd small mark. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright with the odd small spot or handling mark. Light loss and chipping to plate five with the odd closed tear to the extremities. Complimentary bookplate to the front pastedown with ink stamps to the front endpaper and pastedown.
