Written by G. A. Henty, who is best known for a prolific output of historical and adventure novels which earned him his reputation as the most popular Boy's author of his day, inspiring other other writers to attempt writing juvenile adventure stories in his style, including Herbert Strang, Percy F. Westerman and Henry Everett McNeil.
Condition
In the original cloth binding. Externally, with marks and a couple damp stains to the boards. Rubbing and bumping to the extremities. Cocking to the spine. Library bookplate to the front pastedown. Internally, generally firmly bound, with several areas cracked to the gutters. Pages are generally bright and clean, with offsetting to the endpapers and a few scattered spots throughout, heaviest to the front and rear of the work.
