A gripping story of a young man caught in the chaos of Wat Tyler's Rebellion in 1381, stuck between loyalty to the crown and sympathy for the suffering working class.

Written by G. A. Henty, who is best known for a prolific output of historical and adventure novels which earned him his reputation as the most popular Boy's author of his day, inspiring other other writers to attempt writing juvenile adventure stories in his style, including Herbert Strang, Percy F. Westerman and Henry Everett McNeil.
A lovely example of a first edition Henty.
