Each volume is profusely illustrated with a frontispiece, and throughout with maps, and full-paged and in-text illustrations. Volume I includes ten folding maps, and nine maps. Volume II includes six folding maps, and ten maps.
Collated, Volume I is lacking one folding map, to face page 13. Volume II is complete.

Condition
In the original publisher's cloth binding. Externally, smart. Light bumping to the head and tail of the spines and to the extremities. Light rubbing to the spines. A few small marks to the boards and spines. Institutional label and bookseller's label to the front paste down of Volume II. Blind stamp to the front endpaper of Volume II. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean. Blind stamp to the half-title, frontispiece, and title page of Volume II.
