This set includes a selection of his most popular novels including 'The History of Tom Jones, a Foundling', 'The Life and Death of Jonathan Wild, the Great', as well as plays such as 'Love in Several Masques', The Temple Beau' and 'The Modern Husband'.
With an introduction by Edmund Gosse, an English poet, author and critic.
Volume I, II and III contain 'The Adventures of Joseph Andrews and His Friend Mr. Abraham Adams'. Volume IV, V and VI contain 'The History of Tom Jones: A Foundling'. Volume VII, VIII and IX contain 'Amelia'. Volume X contains 'The Life of Mr. Jonathan Wild The Great'. Volume XI and XII contain 'Miscellanies'.

Condition
In the original cloth bindings. Externally, with discolouration to the spines. Rubbing and bumping to the extremities. Marks to the bords. Damp to rear board of Vol IV. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are generally bright and clean, with offsetting and spotting to the endpapers.
