The first edition, first issue, with the correct 'Lawrence & Bullen' to the back strip tail.

In the publisher's original cloth binding, with decorative gilt detailing designed by Althea Gyles. 

Illustrated with a frontispiece and six further plates from J. B. Yeats, the author's brother. Collated, complete.

One of Yeats's best known prose collections, with tales rooted in Irish folklore, mysticism, and symbolism, and in Celtic mythology.

Former owner's inscription to head of front free endpaper.

Condition

In the publisher's original pictorial cloth binding with gilt detailing. Bumping to back strip head and tail, otherwise externally excellent. Inscription to head of front free endpaper. Internally, firmly bound. Pages bright and generally clean, with instances of light spotting to leaf fore edges, and pages facing plates.
