In lovely condition, H. Nazeby Harrington's speech to the Birkenhead Literary and Scientific Society, delivered on Monday, 4th October, 1897.
Harrington was greatly involved in the arts in Birkenhead, and is reported to have 'officially opened Birkenhead's Williamson Art Gallery & Museum in 1915.'
He is noted by the British Museum as a doctor, and as an art collector, who owned a large number of pieces by Francis Seymour Haden.
Printed for private circulation, at the request of the society, and featuring a monochrome frontispiece facsimile of the author's bookplate. Elegant gilt text to front board.
Condition
Bound in original beige cloth. Externally, in excellent condition. The odd mark to boards. Slight offsetting to board edges. Very infrequent spots to endpapers. Thin lines of age toning to each hinge. Internally, firmly bound. Pages consistently bright and clean, with only the very occasional spot.
