First edition. Very scarce. Illustrated with a frontispiece and fifteen plates. Collated complete. A detailed and comprehensive history of Rhodesia, written as a collection of letters. With chapters on bullock-wagon versus railway, the Tati gold-fields of the past, the Tati gold-fields of the present, the Matabele Empire, how Wilson and his men perished, the competing sea-ports, and more. Written and photographed by Stephanus Jacobus du Toit, a South African nationalist, theologian, journalist and translator.

Condition

In the original full cloth binding. Externally, sound with light rubbing and minor bumping to the extremities. Light loss to the head of the spine with the odd small split in the cloth to the extremities. Fading to the spine with marks to the boards. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright with the odd small spot or handling mark. Light age toning to the endpapers.
