French. Illustrated throughout. La Vie Parisienne was a French weekly magazine founded in Paris in 1863 and was published until 1970. The articles covered reviews of novels, sports, theater, music and the arts, with short stories, veiled gossip and fashion banter added later. Notable contributors include: George Barbier, Colette, Fabien Fabiano, Henry Gerbault, Gerda Wegener, and many others. This volume contains each weekly issue from the year 1897 from 2nd January to 25th December.
Condition
Bound in half brown crushed morocco with marbled boards. Externally, smart with rubbing to the extremities and loss of the leather to the board tips. Minor fading to the spine with the odd small mark to the boards. Hinges starting but firm. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright and clean with the odd spot or handling mark. Light tide marks to the rear pages. Age toning to the endpapers. Front free endpaper lightly chipped with sympathetic repairs made with brown paper.
