The town is one of the seven Taluks of the Mandya district, named after the Ranganathaswamy temple, which was consecrated around 984 CE. This concise volume offers a look at the history and tradition of the town.

Condition
In the original publisher's quarter cloth binding with paper to the boards. Externally, generally smart, lacking most of the cloth backstrip, rebacked in a paper backstrip. A small amount of loss to the extremities. Boards are a little sunned with a few light handling marks. Prior owner's ink inscription to the head of the front board. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are a little age-toned and clean. One folding map is detached but present, with some loss, and repairs to the reverse.
