The first monograph of the Committee for the Survey of the Memorials of Greater London. 

Retaining the original brown wraps, although detached from the string-bound wraps the work is printed on.

The Committee, which was formed in 1894 and founded by C. R. Ashbee, served to watch and register the remains of beautiful or historic work in Greater London, and to bear influence when necessary to attempt to save buildings or memorials from demolition. 

This monograph, written by Arts and Crafts architect and designer Charles Robert Ashbee, succeeded in saving Trinity Hospital, a group of almshouses originally built in 1613-14 and now classed as a Grade II listed building.

Condition

In the original wraps, with string binding. Detached from the original brown covers, which are present. Internally, generally firmly bound, with only frontispiece detached, but present.
