Written by Josiah Parsons Cooke, an American chemist who worked at Harvard University and was instrumental in the measurement of atomic weights, inspiring America's first Nobel laureate in chemistry, Theodore William Richards, to pursue similar research.

Condition

In the original red cloth binding. Externally, smart with light rubbing and minor bumping to the extremities. Light fading to the spine with the odd small mark to the boards. Small splits in the cloth to the head and tail of the spine. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright with the odd small spot. Light spotting to the first and last few pages. Contemporary ink inscription and ink stamp to the front endpaper.
