Written by James E. Matthew, a British author on the popular history of music, musical instruments, ballet, and opera, amongst other subjects.

Condition

Bound in quarter calf with cloth covered boards. Externally, smart with light rubbing to the extremities and minor fading to the spine. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright with the odd small spot. Light age toning to the endpapers. With some of the text block unopened.
