In this volume, Younghusband recounts his explorations of Manchuria, the Gobi Desert, the Himalayas, the Pamirs, and Chitral, with a lively commentary on the scenery and its people.
Later in life, Younghusband led the 1904 British expedition to Tibet.
Illustrated with a frontispiece, three folding maps, and seventeen plates.
Collated, lacking the folding map to the pocket to the rear.
Condition
In the original publisher's cloth binding. Externally, generally smart. Light bumping to the head and tail of the spine and to the extremities, with a small amount of loss to the head of the spine. Minor rubbing to the spine, and very light rubbing to the boards. A few light marks to the cloth. Spine is a little faded. Rear hinge is starting but firm. Scattered spots to the endpapers. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are lightly age-toned and clean. Lacking the folding map to the pocket to the rear.
